I have created content on X for 9 months.
During that time I've had dozens of different content strategies and have learned an incredibly important lesson:
Content creation is all about balance. Think of content creation as a graph:
On the left side of the spectrum, you have content that is purely focused on follower growth. This type of content usually has no soul, no personality, no meaning... But it's good because it allows you to reach a lot of people, hence the growth.
On the right, you have content that adds a soul to your brand - personal stories, experiences, beliefs, opinions, etc. This type of content usually doesn't get that much reach but it hits hard for those who do see it.
I've been on the extreme ends of both. I've focused purely on growth and purely on personal content. Over the months, I've found that a healthy mix of both works the best for me.
Growth content keeps us growing in a steady upwards line and personality content adds a soul to these followers we got from soulless growth content.
Examples of pure personality content:
This was a story thread I posted 7 months ago. Gave people a taste of what my life looked like and what it looks like now - Personality content.
Now, this thread did pretty well even though it wasn't focused on growth and resulted in 70 something followers (according to analytics). If you can get a story thread to go viral, you can get a lot of followers from it (rarely happens without paid rts these days).
Also, it doesn't have to be anything crazy, just little snippets giving people an idea of who you are and what you do is already doing a great job in adding a soul to your brand. Look at this simple example:
Examples of pure growth content:
Growth content is usually just simple tweets that take less than 3 minutes to write. They resonate with a lot of people, don't have much personality but get amazing engagement.
This one here took like 30 seconds to write and resulted in 7,000 views. Growth...
P.S. Personality content doesn't have to get much engagement so don't expect much, it has another role to fill.
P.S.P.S. You may think "but what about solving problems my audience has, posting results I get, just shitposting"... You can and should do all of that as well. Just think, when posting pure growth and pure personality content, find a healthy mix. Post value and solve problems whenever, the main takeaway here is that when posting growth and personality, find a balance.
Thanks for reading.
Have a good one,
Tauri
Evidence-based advice getting you leaner, more muscular and healthier.
Getting in shape was hard. Some days I felt: exhausted Uninspired Unmotivated But guess what? That didn’t stop me. Why? I didn’t let a bad day turn into a bad week. Or a bad week turn into a bad month. There were days I didn’t stick to my diet. There were days I missed my workout. My brain:“You messed up today, perfect week lost, you can let loose now” Don’t give into this. Remember… Progress over perfection. It’s okay to make mistakes along the way. Perfection is overrated. A bad day doesn’t...
There's one stupidly simple habit I follow. This habit has helped lose fat, without tracking a thing. Without tracking calories. Without watching what I eat. Without analyzing everything I put on my plate. And the habit is to simply eat only when you're hungry. The thing is, most people eat whenever they feel like it. When they watch TV. When they're bored. Or when they're just after the next dopamine hit. And this type of eating leads to overeating. Which leads to massive gain in fat mass....
Getting lean has been one of my goals for a long time alongside building muscle. Here's me 6 months ago: December 7th And here's me today: Not only did I lose a lot of fat, I've also gained an impressive amount of muscle. Today we'll mostly focus on fat loss and some general principles of retaining muscle while trying to lose fat. To lose fat, we first need to understand how fat loss works. How fat loss works? Fat loss is driven by energy deficit. You need to burn more calories than you...
