Ever since I was a young kid, I always wanted to own a business.
Mostly because I associated the word business to a person who makes a lot of money and owns fancy cars.
I made up my mind as a 15 year old kid-- I will become a business owner and make tons of money.
I started my first business when I turned 17... A marketing agency.
Truth be told, I called it an "agency" because I wanted to look cool among my classmates. In reality, behind the fancy word was an inexperienced 17 year old kid and a cheap website.
And as a 17 year old kid trying to run an online business, money was my main objective.
Without second thought, I started spamming cold emails desperately trying to sign a client.
I did that even before creating an ad account and learning the fundamentals of Facebook ads.
It is no surprise that I never did sign a client but I wonder what would have happened if by a miracle I did...
I didn't even know how to create a Facebook ad. I was so blinded by the thought of making money that I forgot the most important thing in business...
Knowledge.
I really only made that realization 2 months ago.
My mindset in a sentence: you don't make $10,000/month because you are not skilled enough... Yet.
And I see that among the majority of beginner creators on Twitter. They are desperately trying to make money with a skillset that doesn't exist.
It is just not possible. Making money is merely exchanging value for money.
The problem is, most beginner creators have no value to give. It's like they are chasing this imaginary prize which is money without realizing you need a certain skillset to unlock this prize.
So what do you do?
The month after I spent the most money on education has always been the month I make the most progress.
This month I have spent $500 on education (2 courses from Dan Koe & Justin Welsh + 2 books)
I guarantee that January will be my record month in business growth (Revenue and audience)
But you can always start with free education, there is plenty of it.
1// Morning learning for 1 hour
Every morning I spend 1 hour learning a skill that directly affects the amount of money I make. (As part of my deep work routine)
Skills like:
Are absolutely crucial for any creator. I would pick one skill and dive deep. Listen to podcasts, videos, read books, buy courses.
Right now I'm focused on writing and both books and courses are mainly focused on writing.
Take notes about things that spark ideas and give you that sense of clarity. They will come in handy in the future.
2// Afternoons are for pursuing curiosity
In the afternoons I zoom out from specific skills like sales and writing and focus on the bigger picture.
Topics like:
I like to do that by going on a walk and putting on a podcast or a lecture.
These topics give me a bigger picture overview and understanding of life, making it easier for me to connect the dots. This comes in extremely handy in creative work which all creators are doing. (This will make more sense with time and experience)
These topics also tend to spark many ideas in me so I also use that to note down potential content pieces.
3// Creation
You need to find a good balance between consumption and creation.
I used to say that "knowledge is power" but overtime it turned into "applied knowledge is power".
I average about 2 hours of mindful consumption and 3 hours of creation every single day.
You consume when you are reading books, newsletters, listening to podcasts and lectures, etc. That is consumption.
Creation is where you put that knowledge into good use: products, content, emails, lead magnets, etc.
I mainly create in the morning after spending 1 hour learning a specific skill. I tend to have the best focus in the early morning hours. (Varies from person to person)
A quote to sum it all up:
"The difference between you and the person you want to be is skill"

Evidence-based advice getting you leaner, more muscular and healthier.
Getting in shape was hard. Some days I felt: exhausted Uninspired Unmotivated But guess what? That didn’t stop me. Why? I didn’t let a bad day turn into a bad week. Or a bad week turn into a bad month. There were days I didn’t stick to my diet. There were days I missed my workout. My brain:“You messed up today, perfect week lost, you can let loose now” Don’t give into this. Remember… Progress over perfection. It’s okay to make mistakes along the way. Perfection is overrated. A bad day doesn’t...
There's one stupidly simple habit I follow. This habit has helped lose fat, without tracking a thing. Without tracking calories. Without watching what I eat. Without analyzing everything I put on my plate. And the habit is to simply eat only when you're hungry. The thing is, most people eat whenever they feel like it. When they watch TV. When they're bored. Or when they're just after the next dopamine hit. And this type of eating leads to overeating. Which leads to massive gain in fat mass....
Getting lean has been one of my goals for a long time alongside building muscle. Here's me 6 months ago: December 7th And here's me today: Not only did I lose a lot of fat, I've also gained an impressive amount of muscle. Today we'll mostly focus on fat loss and some general principles of retaining muscle while trying to lose fat. To lose fat, we first need to understand how fat loss works. How fat loss works? Fat loss is driven by energy deficit. You need to burn more calories than you...
